In a Quiet Field

There were no bells tolling
Nor birds chirping in the air
Even the winds didn’t blow
And the grass stood still

There were one or two flowers
But it was definitely not a tulips garden
Let alone parks in the movies that are stunningly beautiful

But there were stars
A lot of them above our heads
The moon was there too
Staring at us with the warmth of a mother

And there we lied side by side
Facing each other
Looking at each other’s eyes

Surrounding us was Love herself
She was actually a quiet being
Instead of ecstasy she came with contentment
Instead of lust, a feeling of caring
And instead of possessiveness, trust and freedom

She covered us like a blanket
From our toes to our heads
It was truly warm

You, me, and Love that night
We spoke no words
Why should we?
Words aren’t needed when feelings can be felt
as that’s what they are born for

We let only Love spoke that night
And how can we forget, Girl
Speak and say it all she did

And there we lied side by side
Facing each other
Looking at each other’s eyes
Listening to Love as she blankets
And talks about us
